Radamel Falcao set to return for Man Utd against QPR

Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao is likely to return to the starting eleven against Queens Park Rangers this weekend, reports the Daily Mail.

Despite being fit, Falcao was left out of the squad completely for the 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton last weekend.

Louis van Gaal selected three centre-backs on the bench, but couldn't find room for the Colombia international, though the former Netherlands manager has suggested that he was resting the 28-year-old.

Falcao appears set to return to the team as a result of Robin van Persie's ankle injury, report the Mail.

The former Arsenal captain's injury prevented him from travelling to Zurich for the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday, where his spectacular header against Spain at the World Cup had been nominated for the Puskas Award.

Falcao is currently at United on a year-long loan deal from Monaco, and he earns around £280,000-a-week.

The club have the option to sign him permanently for £43 million, but he has been unable to show his best form on a regular basis this season, as reported by the Mail too.

Injury has limited him to just 12 league appearances, and he has only scored three goals in the top flight.

The 28-year-old will be hoping to impress at Loftus Road on Saturday to boost his chances of securing a permanent move to United.

Falcao has 65% shot accuracy in the league this season.
