Few days ago, Keshi indicated his interest to
coach the Black Stars of Ghana.
But in a swift reaction to the report on
Monday morning, the Vice President of the
Ghana FA, Fred Crenstil, informed that the
application window for the job is shut.
"Unfortunately, we are not considering any
other names and so Stephen Keshi – who we
respect a lot – will not be able to make it,"
Crenstil told supersport.com.
The GFA Vice President added: "We opened a
window for applications and it's been closed
for sometime now. We've even shortlisted
and interviewed three coaches and we are in
the last stages of sending a report to the FA
Executive Committee."
It was gathered that the three shortlisted
coaches for the vacant coaching position in
Ghana are Swiss coach Michel Pont, Spanish
gaffer Juan Ignacio Martinez and former
Chelsea man Avram.
Keshi was relieved of his job as the head
coach of the Nigerian national team after he
led the Eagles to 3-1 victory against Sudan at
the Abuja National Stadium on 15 October.
Prior to his sack, the former Togo and Mali
national teams coach had boasted that at least
three African teams were waiting to hire him
if he was sacked by the Nigeria Football
Federation, NFF.
More than 10 days since Keshi's sack, the
football world is still waiting to see which
country would hire the 'Big Boss'.
